Information for Pharmaceutical Reps

We sincerely appreciate the opportunity to be advised of your medical products and services. We understand you have a job to do and we appreciate the value that you bring to our office. Our patients benefit from the knowledge, samples and coupons/co-pay cards you bring to our office. However, we extend presentation privileges expecting adherence to these rules:

  1. We see pharmaceutical reps by appointment only. Please call the office to schedule an appointment.
  2. Please place your samples on the shelving unit near the closets. Our staff will put samples away.
  3. While waiting to speak with our providers please remain in the designated representative waiting area and away from provider offices including the doorways.
  4. You will be able to get the signature of one provider per visit. The provider that frees up first will address you and you will have only 60 seconds to convey the most important information. If you need longer than 60 seconds, please schedule a lunch.
  5. Please only go into the nurses' station if you have refrigerated samples and keep your visit there as brief as possible.
  6. You are permitted into a provider's office only if you have been invited.
  7. Any materials left anywhere in the office with the exception of the shelves where samples are left, will be discarded.
  8. Only one person per session is permitted to attend the appointment. Other team members (supervisors, trainees, speakers, medical liaisons, etc.) are not permitted to accompany the designated rep unless prior approval has been obtained.
  9. We maintain the right to refuse entry to a representative based on previous interactions or if an office situation requires our full attention. We will work with you to re-schedule an appointment in the latter instance.

Lunch Policy: You may book lunches up to 6 months in advance with the front office. Please only book one lunch per 4-week cycle to allow all representatives to have an opportunity for a lunch appointment. We may have certain reps on an every 8-week lunch cycle which usually reflects the need for the product. We have a cancellation list that we will call in the event of a lunch cancellation. If you would like your name added please let the front office know.

On occasion, one or more of our providers may not be available during your scheduled lunch appointment due to unforeseen circumstances. We will always try to contact the representative to allow for re-scheduling, if desired.

Our lunch time with reps is from 12:30-1:00 pm. The earliest you may enter the break room as early as 12:15 pm.

Representatives that are not mindful of our patients, staff or visitation policies will be banned from our office. We believe in personal accountability. With that said, only offending representatives will lose privileges in our office.

Representatives that bring value, professionalism and adhere to our work-flow rules are always welcome. Thanks for what you do for Oconee Family Practice and our patients! We appreciate you!
